I CAN is looking for an exceptional Philanthropy Manager to support our fundraising team. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and a key part of the team, the new Philanthropy Manager will develop and manage a portfolio of donors, significantly improving our performance in building long term engaging relationships and raising funds.
We are keen to hear from you if you have:
- Significant experience of building and managing personal relationships with high net worth individuals and/or senior stake holders and/or influential individuals.
- Implementation experience of the principles of major gift fundraising, including cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major donors or equivalent experience in a commercial organisation.
- Experience networking with, and influencing, senior people both internally and externally in order to achieve pre-defined outcomes.

Good language at age five is the single most important factor in helping children escape poverty. 10% of children in the UK have long-term persistent speech, language and communication needs, I CAN is determined to lead on raising the profile of this issue.
Through its training programmes, interventions and specialist schools, I CAN provides critical support to children of all ages and the children’s workforce. Thousands of nurseries and schools benefit from its evidence-based programmes. I CAN itself runs two special schools for children and young people with the most complex communication needs.
I CAN has ambitious plans for growth over the next three years and needs to grow its voluntary fundraising income to allow the charity to develop pioneering new approaches in supporting children who have trouble communicating.
