Location:        Holborn, Central London (remote working during COVID- 19 lockdown)

Salary:            £31,000 - £33,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits

Type of contract: maternity cover (up to 1-year fixed term contract)

Hours:            Full- time (37.5 hours per week)

The Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) is a small, independent, nationally and internationally respected, scientific, not-for-profit organisation (c40 staff in total), using accurate data to help improve the quality of critical care through audit, research and education, conducted with, and in the interests of, patients and those who care for them. Most recently, ICNARC has been centrally involved in the response to COVID-19 through weekly reporting on admissions to, and outcomes from, intensive care and as the UK methods centre for the CMO endorsed REMAP-CAP trial which is currently recruiting in 120 centres in the UK.

About the role

Providing maternity cover for the National Cardiac Arrest Audit (NCAA) Project Coordinator, this is an ideal role ideal role for someone who enjoys utilising their experience, knowledge and skills to make a significant impact across data processing and reporting. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual who has experience of working with databases or information systems.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for an experienced Programme Coordinator to join our clinical audit team. You will be responsible for providing leadership and support in the development and delivery of high quality accurate clinical audit. You will be liaising with hospitals across the UK to facilitate their successful participation in the National Cardiac Arrest Audit programme.

You will be responsible for:

  • ensuring that effective and efficient working practices are in place for supporting accurate and timely data processing and reporting.
  • Ensuring effective day-to-day management of clinical audit activities and tasks; managing team workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Monitoring and performance managing participating hospitals for NCAA to ensure agreed participation standards are met; escalate issues when required.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of existing and new clinical audits, including project work on datasets and systems.
  • Content and delivery of audit training courses and resources.
  • Providing direction and support for external events and meetings for a range of external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring internal staff and external stakeholders understand and adhere to strict Information Governance and Data Protection requirements.
  • Providing effective leadership and management by promoting and supporting development of audit staff through mentorship, training and education.

What you’ll need to succeed

In order to succeed, it is essential that you have experience of working in a similar role and have in depth knowledge of information security practices and principles.

Knowledge of human biology and medical terminology and knowledge of the health sector and working with hospitals or similar are desirable but not essential.
