Job description

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a global research and learning organisation for equitable and sustainable change, based in Brighton.

The Rural Future Team at IDS is seeking a Post-Doctoral Researcher (PDR) to work on value chain governance in agriculture. The PDR will be responsible for innovative and high-quality research on private sector initiatives in agricultural value chains and their contribution to development outcomes.

Applicants should have a PhD along with good and up-to-date knowledge of public and private initiatives to include and empower smallholder agriculture in markets. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, writing and communication skills and be able to work autonomously, with minimal supervision. A willingness to travel overseas is essential to this role and fluency in spoken Spanish or French is highly desirable.
