Ihezie Foundation is a UK charity working to donate children’s literacy books to primary schools here in the UK, and educational and textbooks to schools, libraries and universities in Africa.

We are recruiting a Part Time Trust Fundraising Manager

Part time, Permanent, 22 hours per week (with flexibility to work across 3-5 days and from home)

Responsible to: Director

Ihezie Foundation works to inspire children and students to read more; encourage them to share their enjoyment of reading; and celebrate the difference that reading makes.

In the UK, Ihezie Foundation works to donate much needed children’s books to support primary schools’ literacy programmes, and to invigorate and restock depleted library shelves.

About the Trust Fundraising Manager role

Our Trust Fundraising Manager is a new and crucial position for the organisation. Ihezie Foundation has recently reviewed its strategy and fundraising plan; and we’re excited to be working together with schools and teachers to do something new and impactful.

The Fundraising Manager will work in close partnership with the Director and the Board of Trustees, to ensure our mission is fulfilled successfully. You will lead on the delivery and development of our trust-fundraising plan, to ensure that we have the necessary trust and foundation income streams. You will also oversee a funding model that delivers sustainability, resilience, and a good return on investment, for which we are accountable to our funders and donors.

You will be working to identify, generate and sustain income from trusts and foundations, including writing grant applications and building relationships with targeted trusts and foundations.  As part of this you will oversee external communications relating to trust fundraising, including traditional channels and digital media.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to improving the literacy and numeracy skills of students in the UK and in Africa.

Previous trust-fundraising experience is essential for this role.
