IIC - (International Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works)
Westminster, Greater London
£27,000 (£45,000 FTE)
Permanent, Part-time
Job description

Job title: Head of Finance and Operations
Salary: £27,000 (£45,000 FTE)
Location: Westminster, London
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (with some flexibility to work from home, subject to discussion during the recruitment process).

IIC is run by passionate people, who are dedicated to supporting the conservation and cultural heritage profession. The institute was founded in 1950 by a group of extraordinary individuals who witnessed dramatic events during WW2. The remarkable initiative of a few far-sighted pioneers came to fruition with the creation of the IIC. For those pioneers, including the few individuals that became widely known as the Monuments Men, the destruction of war only sharpened their convictions that the preservation of cultural artefacts was too important to be left to chance.

IIC is an independent and unifying international organisation. We bring together conservators and cultural heritage professionals from around the world, educating, enabling and recognising excellence. This commitment drives everything we do - from our intellectually stimulating Congresses and prestigious Journal, to activities specifically tailored to capture the imagination and curiosity of students and emerging conservators.

We are looking for a Head of Finance and Operations to join our small, friendly and supportive team. This new role will manage the finance and operations of our charity, working closely with the Executive Director and members of Council to ensure ongoing viability and a secure financial future for the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC) as a Learned Society and professional membership organisation.

Working with the Executive Director, the Head of Finance and Operations will be responsible for the financial and operational management, business analysis and reporting for IIC in line with our charitable status, purpose and values.

You will be a qualified finance manager or have equivalent experience, with a keen commercial sense and a passionate commitment to the vision of supporting conservation of cultural heritage.

You will be responsible for IIC’s finance and operating systems and will need to be proficient in using Xero or similar accounts packages. Working with the Membership Secretary you will ensure our membership services are effectively delivered to ensure a high quality of service for our members.

This role will also be the key contact for banking, information and data management and annual reporting as well as leading the management of the annual audit process, preparation of Management Accounts and administration of all grants, invoicing, outsourced contracts such as Payroll and contracts for services.

You will be a proactive individual who can demonstrate initiative with excellent organisational and communication skills. It will be important to maintain a strong working relationship with our committees and programme leads to ensure appropriate and timely provision of management information as well as supporting officers and the Executive Director as we move our fundraising and sponsorship ambitions forward to deliver against our longer-term strategic goals.

Please note the closing date for Applications is Midnight on Sunday 2nd February.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 13th February 2020 in Westminster, London.
