Job description

Imagine is a mental health charity in the heart of Croydon our primary focus is all about promoting independence.

We work together with people with mental health needs and other challenges so they can live a full and independent life.

We are well known for providing a socially inclusive service called 'Mainstream', which has achieved national recognition.

In London many of our services are supported by volunteers, without whom we could not reach out to such a wide variety of people.

We are looking for volunteers with lived experience or those who have an interest in working with clients who have mental health needs. It is a good way to gain experience, qualifications and a way to give something back and participate in your community.

The roles:

Befrienders - Noramally you would meet in the community ( cafe, gym, park etc.) and engage in activities of mutual interest but during the covid lockdown you will be supporting a service user via a weekly phone call..

There is an ongoing training programme which all volunteers need to complete and due to the time required a formal commitment of a minimum of 2 hours a week is required. We also request that our volunteers commit to 12 months.

Please note that you must be aged 18 or over to volunteer. You must live within Croydon or it's surrounding areas. We will carry out a DBS police check
