You will be a member of the Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager with most of the team’s financial planning & analysis activities, several aspects of the monthly management accounts production, reporting and financial control processes, as well as supporting the team in its day to day client-facing tasks.
You will be expected to be a self-starter, capable of working on their own initiative, and focussed on the needs of their internal customers, with the ability to successfully prioritise and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements. In addition to possessing a flexible, customer-focussed approach, you will be a team player, and will work closely with colleagues and other stakeholders to help the Union in achieving its objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
The main duty will entail supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation of the management accounts, investigating the variances and presenting the Union results to senior managers and budget holders. Other major duties will involve monthly reconciliations and supporting the Finance Manager in the budgeting and forecasting processes. Further duties will include providing support and cover for other members of the team such as the accounts payable area.
The ideal candidate should be experienced in the preparation of the management accounts and have had exposure to the budgeting/forecasting processes. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be IT literate, able to meet monthly deadlines, be a team player and personable in nature.
