This is an exciting new role at Independent Age reporting to the Head of Governance & Risk. The post holder will provide excellent support to the Governance & Risk team across a broad range of activities, including governance, risk management, procurement and contracts, data protection, safeguarding and business continuity.

You will be responsible for servicing our Board and Committees, supporting the Head of Governance & Risk in aspects of risk, procurement, safeguarding and our annual planning cycle and providing efficient support to the rest of the Governance & Risk Team, including the Director of Finance & Governance.

You will have a passion for good governance and risk management, including a demonstrable understanding of charity governance best practice and the principles of good risk management. You will also have a good working knowledge and experience in one or more of the following specialisms – safeguarding, data protection, procurement and contract management or business continuity planning. You will be an excellent communicator, with an eye for detail and a proactive can-do attitude. You will also have a desire to get things done efficiently and well.

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, which you can choose to work over five days or a 9-day fortnight.

If your experience doesn’t align perfectly with all of the above criteria but you do meet most of them and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply anyway.
