The Head of Finance plays a critical role at Independent Age, ensuring that our Finance Team deliver an excellent service to all our colleagues, and that the team’s work enables the delivery of our organisational strategy and thus increases our impact for older people. The postholder will also work together with our Director of Finance & Governance to provide strong financial leadership to the whole charity.

The ideal candidate will hold a professional accounting qualification and have previous experience of leading a finance team in the charity sector. You will be a technical expert, familiar with all aspects of the Charity SORP, current sector issues and the operation of VAT, tax and Gift Aid within registered charities. You will be a strategic thinker, and a strong problem solver with a drive to improve performance, and the ability to lead your team to achieve it. You will build strong relationships across the charity and inspire trust and confidence in stakeholders as well as within your team.  Most importantly, you will have a demonstrable passion for and affinity with our cause.
