Over the past 10 years, Independent Age has been through a major transformation. We’ve moved from operating as a benevolent trust, to establishing ourselves as a charity that provides impact at scale for older people.
Our plan is to significantly accelerate the number of people who get and give support through Independent Age. However, the opportunity doesn’t just lie in increasing volume, but in developing ways to build meaningful engagement with our key audiences. In order to seize this opportunity and help us turn this vision into a reality, we have brought together the key functions that drive the public to Independent Age – Marketing, Communications and Fundraising – and taken the bold step of building a brand new Engagement Division, led by a new Engagement Management Team. Central to our new Engagement Vision is our ability to deliver sustainable step-change growth in voluntary income to help increase the impact we make on the lives of older people, their families and friends.
As part of these plans, we are building a brand new Partnerships & Philanthropic Giving department, and now seek a new Head of Partnerships & Philanthropic Giving to lead on its creation, development and delivery. You will be a key member of the Engagement Management Team, ensuring that Partnerships & Philanthropic Giving forms an integrated part of an effective wider programme of fundraising and engagement campaigns and activities. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to be part of a brand new high-calibre senior team responsible for shaping and driving the public growth of a rapidly growing charity.
You will be truly inspired and energised by the opportunity to build a brand new sustainable Partnerships & Philanthropic Giving programme in a growth organisation with resources to invest and working to a universal, urgent and growing cause. You will bring significant new business and relationship fundraising expertise, and an outstanding track record of achieving considerable income growth from major funders (including personally securing six figure + gifts). Your experience of working at a senior level cross-organisationally to significantly expand a balanced portfolio of major funding proposals and embed a new culture of partnership giving will be critical to this new chapter of Independent Age’s growth.
You will also have a proven track record of working with senior internal stakeholders to build integrated and mutually beneficial major funding and service development strategies (including related proposals and reporting). And you will instinctively know what it takes to build and leverage new and existing corporate and philanthropic partnerships to help drive sustainable growth in the scope, scale and depth of innovative charitable services which deliver measurable impact.
If you are looking for a unique opportunity to drive growth at this critical time of your career and, above all, want the opportunity to contribute directly to making a positive social impact, we would love to hear from you.
