Job description

It’s an incredibly exciting time to join Independent Age and help make an impact on the lives of older people as we start work on our 2021 – 2023 strategy.

Pivotal to the success of our new strategy will be how Independent Age recruits, engages and retains volunteers so that their skills and passion play an increased role in ensuring that we all grow older well, with dignity, choice and purpose.

The Volunteering Business Partner will play a critical role providing expert volunteering advice and support, influencing a range of geographically dispersed teams, and building greater organisational capacity by involving the right volunteers in the right places. As a subject matter expert, the Volunteering Business Partner will develop and deliver training across the organisation and offer ongoing advice and guidance to members of staff responsible for the day to day support of volunteers.

With previous experience of volunteer business partnering to support the planning, development and delivery of business plans, the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who has experience of influencing at a range of levels.  With a commitment to working collaboratively to ensure continuous development and improvement, demonstrable experience of offering high quality advice and support, and experience of developing and delivering training, the postholder will be an expert in volunteer management best practice.

Independent Age has a wealth of benefits including 28 days annual leave in addition to public holidays, a generous pension scheme with an employer contribution of up to 10% and life assurance cover, flexible working arrangements, season ticket loans, and a cycle to work scheme.
