Job description

It’s an incredibly exciting time to join Independent Age and help make an impact on the lives of older people as we start work on our 2021 – 2023 strategy.

Pivotal to the success of our new strategy will be how Independent Age recruits, engages and retains volunteers so that their skills and passion play an increased role in ensuring that we all grow older well, with dignity, choice and purpose.

The Volunteering Development Manager will play a critical role in shaping, developing and delivering a sector leading end-to-end volunteering experience at Independent Age.

With significant experience of supporting volunteering in a multi-faceted organisation and a passion for the difference that volunteers can make, the ideal candidate will be an expert in the best practice associated with the recruitment, onboarding and engagement of volunteers that operate in a variety of roles.  An excellent people manager, with experience of leading and inspiring teams to excel, they will have a commitment to continuous development and improvement in all that they do.

Independent Age has a wealth of benefits including 28 days annual leave in addition to public holidays, a generous pension scheme with an employer contribution of up to 10% and life assurance cover, flexible working arrangements, season ticket loans, and a cycle to work scheme.
