As an independent body serving the public, we uphold information rights for all. We do this by promoting openness in public bodies, as well as data privacy for individuals. As well as this, we oversee legislation that ensures people’s data is secure, accurate and robustly managed. We have a number of vacancies in all our operational departments, which are both full and part time roles.
The vacancies are in our Business Services Team and Public Advice and Complaints Team, these manage the ICO national helplines and related case work, therefore to meet business demands we offer a variety of working patterns.
About the role
You’ll work in one of our operational areas which will include providing advice to the public and organisations, handling complaints and concerns and providing guidance whilst working on one of our helplines. Wherever you join us, you’ll be responsible for providing clear and consistent advice, in line with our policies and operational strategy.
As well as a degree, equivalent qualification or relevant work experience, you’ll need to be a confident communicator who can deal with both customers and internal stakeholders. Your judgement, intellect and initiative will give you the ability to handle your work autonomously and confidently.
You’ll need to be able to quickly develop knowledge of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures and how these apply to your role. And as legislation changes, you’ll further develop your expertise accordingly.
