Our range of cases includes custody and detention, multi-agency failings or where wider issues of state and corporate accountability are in question, such as with Hillsborough and Grenfell. You can find more information on our website, particularly in our Impact Report, and on our Campaigns, and Media Releases webpages.
About the role
We are looking for a communications professional with solid media, social media and communications experience. This is an important time to join INQUEST, which is at the forefront of the current movement against state violence and systemic racism in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will possess strong professional and personal qualities, and their values will align with INQUEST’s.
Line managed by the Head of Policy, the successful candidate will play a key role in INQUEST’s public facing work, leading on fast paced strategic and reactive media and social media, developing and maintaining the website and external communications from leaflets to publications; and managing the organisational brand and its consistency across various platforms. The post-holder will bring new ideas and strategic thinking to develop a proactive strategy to our media and communications work. The overall aim of the role is to promote the strategic priorities of INQUEST, support bereaved people in sharing their experiences, and be a key part of INQUEST’s systemic change work.
This role is ideal for an efficient and effective communicator who is organised, works well in fast paced environments and in small teams, and is a proactive self-starter skilled at balancing competing priorities. On the eve of INQUEST’s 40th anniversary, this role will also play a crucial part in creative projects and upcoming events looking back over the organisation’s history.
Location: Initially working from home, then based at the INQUEST Office, Finsbury Park, London N4.
INQUEST is an equal opportunities employer. We actively promote diversity and strongly encourage applications from within Black Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, other under-represented groups, and from those who have overcome significant adversity in their lives and are now able to inspire others positively through their journey and progress.
