The IOP aims to ensure that the UK and Ireland are able to realise the full societal and economic benefits of the new industrial era. This role will be involved in multiple strategic projects to achieve this aim; projects such as carrying out innovation survey to inform policy and creating a national network of innovation centres and facilities to strengthen support to entrepreneurs and R&D intensive start-ups and SMEs.
The role is also responsible for the delivery of the IOP’s prestigious Awards and its member-led Special Interest Groups, including its new Business Innovation and Growth Group (BIG) and the Affordable Workspace in our building in Kings Cross.
We are looking for a customer-focused leader, who is dedicated to meeting the expectations of our membership, physics community and external partners.
As the successful candidate, you will have a track record in championing business innovation. You will be results-driven, with a ‘can-do’ attitude and you will thrive working collaboratively with others to achieve ambitious goals.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and have the competence to diplomatically facilitate complex discussions and explore alternatives to reach outcomes that gain acceptance of all parties. Your analytical skills enable you to solve problems quickly and efficiently. This and your excellent communication skills – verbal and written – will enable you to inform decision making, create informative reports and positions in order to make representations to Government and Funding bodies.
