As the Supporter Journeys and Retention Officer, you will execute and evaluate campaigns aimed at engaging and retaining supporters, using a variety of direct marketing channels. This role plays a vital role in the development of supporter journeys, helping to provide understanding of what motivates our existing audience and how we can learn from this in strategic development.
To be a successful Supporter Journeys and Retention Officer , you’ll need:
- Experience of direct marketing customer / supporter engagement, preferably within a fundraising role i.e. in individual giving or in memory
- Strong project management skills including experience in working with internal teams and external suppliers
- Understanding of delivering supporter journey mapping and planning around multiple channels
- Strong grasp of direct marketing KPIs and an analytical approach, to maximize Lifetime Value (LTV)
Salary: £33,850 (if remote) or £38,453 (if London based)
Contract: 6 month FTC
Location: Flexible within the UK

We are looking for a Supporter Engagement Officer for an incredible international development charity. This is a brand new role and will be focused on proactively growing and mobilising a regional network of supporters and volunteers.
This can be a home based role with regular travel required throughout the Essex and the East London region.
London office attendance may be required occasionally when needed (there is also the option to attend the London office more regularly is hybrid working is preferable.)

The Role
Take responsibility for and lead on engaging with key audiences and forging new relationships with emerging audiences.

Contribute creative ideas for new fundraising campaigns or initiatives.

About Our Client

Job Description
Reporting to the CEO, the job holder will work closely with the CEO, the executive team and the board on a variety of tasks to help TOTSCo achieve maturity in its governance, decision making and strategy and more generally as an organisation. Tasks include:
- Forward-planning board agendas in the light of strategic and operational priorities
- Preparing papers for board consideration under direction, including appropriate analysis and recommendations
- Support strategic development and implementation
- Preparing periodic board off-site strategy meetings
- Support board committees (e.g. Remco, ARC) in meeting preparation
- Development, management and review of organisational policies, including development of the staff handbook
- Support the board in implementation of Wates code of corporate governance

Should time allow, additional tasks may extend to a variety of projects such as:

About the role
As Programme Finance Officer you will provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept proposals to final reports. You will maintain a close working relationship with all finance and programme teams and relevant staff across their international network and external donors. You will prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboards, and quarterly cash balance reports.
You will oversee the grants management and compliance processes, including maintaining the grants management tracker to ensure they are properly recorded and monitored. You will review budgets for proposals and make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with donor requirements.
You will also carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations. The role will involve travel to countries in which we operate grants. Normally this could be 2 – 3 trips per year lasting 7/10 days.
About you
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience working within international charities or donor agencies and have a good understanding of grant accounting
- Experience working with EC, ECHO, DFID or equivalent and have familiarity with compliance rules

This critical position holds ultimate financial responsibility for their largest directorate, including providing leadership and guidance to the internationally based finance teams, to maintaining and developing longer term plans and being accountable for financial performance against budget.
The key duties of this Deputy Director of Donor Finance are as follows:
- Ensure the maintenance of the directorate’s 2030 financial plan.
- Drive the development of the directorate’s annual business plan and subsequent budget cycle, validating financials and assumptions prior to submission.
- Provide critical challenge of all actual vs budget analysis. Ensuring all risks and opportunities have been understood and accurately captured.
- Business partner with the Country Directors to ensure their finance teams are operating at the highest efficiency level, providing opportunities for upskilling as required.
- Regularly produce reports for and present to the Head Office senior management team, keeping them abreast of in-country programme progress.
- Full responsibility for ensuring donor and year-end audits are conducted in accordance with respective standards, acting as the key point of escalation for anything high risk.
- Work closely with the COO in the development of working papers for the Board and Trustees, attending meetings to present the financials as required.
This role offers a unique opportunity for someone with a strong background business partnering with international teams and stakeholders, who is looking to take their experience to a new level in operational donor finance. - A full accountancy qualification.
