Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.
You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).
The role also line manages the Senior Programme Funding Officer, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team. Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.
If you think you have the skills, qualities and drive to fulfil this role, but don’t meet all of the specifications, or perhaps you’ve gained your experience in (for example) commercial sales or within relationships management and are looking to move into development work, we would still welcome hearing from you. About the Role
As the Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, securing, and stewarding major gifts from existing and prospective donors across UK and global markets. You will build and foster positive relationships with philanthropic donors, providing excellent stewardship to existing and new donors. You will also develop a strong pipeline of national and international major gift prospects using various methods to identify warm and cold opportunities.
About you
You will support the Head of Fundraising in developing and implementing BBC Media Action's global philanthropy fundraising strategy, delivering agreed realistic and achievable fundraising targets and KPIs, and liaising with contracted fundraising consultants for guidance on pipeline expansion.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have demonstrable experience working in a fundraising environment and a track record of excellent stewardship. You should also have a track record of securing five to six-figure gifts, strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and presentational skills, and be a team player with the ability to collaborate successfully across organizational boundaries.

The successful candidate will assist the Head of Corporate Fundraising in crafting and executing the corporate fundraising strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. This includes a need to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the visibility of the Fundraising Team and the work of the Charity. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new revenue streams by building and owning a pipeline of prospects, conducting research, outreach, and collaborating with the Prospect Researcher. Your strategic acumen will be crucial in aligning corporate prospect priorities with the charity's objectives while actively networking with corporates, high-profile individuals, and potential donors.
