Summary of the role:
This role will provide day-to-day administrative support and project support to the department head and the overall team to ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s operations in an efficient manner. This role will focus on generating reports, tracking progress, and ensuring all the necessary processes relating to compliance, finance and HR are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
About the Role:
- Develop a thorough understanding of Muslim Aid’s work areas in order to ensure strategic linkages / appropriate dissemination of information or assignment of actions.
- Develop, maintain and review administrative systems to achieve maximum efficiency and to have high-level exposure across the organisation including admin, finance, IT, HR, supporter services, IP, comms etc.
- Prepare purchase orders and document payments according to Muslim Aid’s financial procedure and in conjunction with the Finance team to ensure speedy payment of invoices for internal / external stakeholders.
- Assist the Head of Income Generation and Marketing with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, documents, briefing papers, action points and reports as requested and to track work across all relevant departments to ensure the nominated Manager undertakes action within the agreed timeframe.
- Provide administrative support to Head of Income Generation and Marketing in preparing and drafting correspondence, booking meetings, minute-taking, planning and supporting events, organising travel and preparing travel itineraries and relevant tasks as required by the Head of Income Generation and Marketing.
- Be the gatekeeper and first point of contact to stakeholders, assessing priorities, redirecting calls, enquiries, and face to face meeting appointments.

About the role
As Programme Finance Officer you will provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept proposals to final reports. You will maintain a close working relationship with all finance and programme teams and relevant staff across their international network and external donors. You will prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboards, and quarterly cash balance reports.
You will oversee the grants management and compliance processes, including maintaining the grants management tracker to ensure they are properly recorded and monitored. You will review budgets for proposals and make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with donor requirements.
You will also carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations.
About you
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience working within international charities or donor agencies and have a good understanding of grant accounting
- Experience working with EC, ECHO, DFID or equivalent and have familiarity with compliance rules
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
- Experience working within financial accounting and financial reporting in a charitable context

The Project Coordinator has to assist in providing project coordination for the full life cycle of any assignment offered to our clients; from the proposal process, contract management with the client, assignment planning, through to assisting with the report writing, and ultimately billing the client.
Contract Responsibilities
·Assist with proposal and tender submission, including preparing project budgets and schedules, liaising with prospective staff and ensuring all proposals are submitted within the respective deadlines

JOB PURPOSE
The role will support the research activities of Start Network and its programmes and initiatives.
Working within the Evidence & Learning team, the Research Officer will conduct research, interpret data and communicate findings across of a range of programmes and initiatives which support evidencing the impact and learning of Start Network activities. Self Help Africa is an international development organisation that works through agriculture and Agri-enterprise development to end hunger and extreme poverty.

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising and Administration Officer role primarily focuses on providing excellent supporter care and administrative support within the fundraising department. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining supporter relations, optimising fundraising efforts, and ensuring efficient administrative processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Care:
- To be a first point of contact for the Fundraising Department, answering the phone and meeting and greeting people who arrive to the office.
- Respond to enquiries from supporters, prospective supporters and volunteers via telephone, e-mail, and post, maintaining excellent supporter relations.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgments, using both standard and bespoke correspondence.
- To adhere to administrative procedures to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service which is compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide admin support for Direct Mail letters and appeals, including the use of mail merge, when required.
- Assist with the ongoing stewardship of Regular Givers.
Community Fundraising:
- Co-ordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support fundraising.
- Develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers, with the aim of maximising the funds they raise through challenges, events and talks.
- Support the formation of volunteer fundraising groups.
- Support ongoing and new events within the UK, which may include occasional weekend and evening work.
- Take the lead with the co-ordination and administration of public collections in the UK.
- Take the lead in monitoring fundraising merchandise, and liaise with suppliers, for fundraising materials, including Christmas Cards.
Digital Marketing:
- Support in developing UK digital fundraising opportunities.
- Administer digital acquisition campaigns in the UK e.g. through digital advertising, to generate new donors.
Database Management (Training will be provided):
- Create and maintain contact records on Salesforce, ensuring supporter information is kept up to date by recording changes to mailing preferences, gift aid eligibility and contact details etc.
- Database maintenance and housekeeping e.g. identifying and merging duplicate records, removing, or archiving redundant data, adhering to GDPR protocols.
Finance Administration (Training will be provided):
- Efficiently process and reconcile incoming donations, received daily by post, online and phone. Bank cheques and cash on a weekly basis, and process credit card and CAF donations.
- Record all donations to Salesforce, ensuring the accurate coding of income to the correct source and supporter.
- Administer new Direct Debit instructions.
- Support monthly and quarterly reports demonstrating fundraising income received against budget, to inform the management team and provide accurate forecasting.
- Scan and upload credit card statements and invoices for payment by the Finance team.
- Record and reconcile petty cash expenditure.
- Assist the Finance team in the reconciliation of all income received, responding to any queries.
General Office Administration:
- Order office stationery and fundraising supplies, as required.
- Co-ordinate general office maintenance, as required.
- Arrange accommodation for staff travel to Shrewsbury.

The role
As a Membership Engagement Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that our members can maximise and improve their engagement with their network. You will help implement our member engagement strategy, developing creative yet simple solutions to improve engagement, whilst considering individual member needs and objectives.
This is an externally facing role, where you will proactively build relationships with individual members and member organisations regularly and at senior levels. You will help create spaces for members to connect with each other, delivering roundtables, events, webinars or digitally enabled communities of practice, to promote collaboration and learning exchange.
This is an important time to join Start Network, as we look to shift to a decentralised and devolved membership model. Our membership functions and services are set to devolve to the hub level over the coming years and you will be expected to support members in making this transition.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a committed and collaborative individual, with previous experience of working in a membership focused role within a network or membership organisation. You will demonstrate previous experience of building and maintaining multi-stakeholder relationships and partnerships, as well as experience of designing and managing events or conferences. Knowledge of client relationship management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce is essential.
You will exhibit excellent communication skills, with the ability advise, feedback and coach a variety of people, as well as to actively listen and engage with audiences effectively. Strong strategic thinking, collaborative and team working skills are also essential.
