Ivy Rock Partners is delighted to be supporting a leading global development organisation with the recruitment of an interim Programme Finance Officer to support the Programme Finance Manager in running an efficient and effective programme financial management and reporting processes in relation to their programmes and grants.

About the role

As Programme Finance Officer you will provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept proposals to final reports. You will maintain a close working relationship with all finance and programme teams and relevant staff across their international network and external donors. You will prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboards, and quarterly cash balance reports.

You will oversee the grants management and compliance processes, including maintaining the grants management tracker to ensure they are properly recorded and monitored. You will review budgets for proposals and make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with donor requirements.

You will also carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations.

About you

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience working within international charities or donor agencies and have a good understanding of grant accounting
• Experience working with EC, ECHO, DFID or equivalent and have familiarity with compliance rules
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
• Experience working within financial accounting and financial reporting in a charitable context
• Broad understanding and experience of development issues and organisations

This role will be interviewing on a rolling basis and will best suit candidates who are immediately available.

Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) on their search for an Accounting Officer to be responsible for the financial and budgeting operations of the CTO.

This role is hybrid – 1 day a week working from the CTO’s London office, and it is offered on a part-time basis in the first instance with the possibility of becoming full-time after the initial 6 months of the contract. The CTO will be able to consider supporting sponsorship and or visa for the right candidate if they are a national from one of the CTO's 33 member states.

The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation is the oldest and largest Commonwealth membership organisation in the field of information and communication technologies. Today, the CTO plays an integral role in providing 21st-century thinking, knowledge, understanding and leadership to its members, helping them to shape their digital futures. They are fully involved in the development and use of digital ICT for social and economic development and are at the forefront of the ICT revolution to deliver significant benefits to its members.

Reporting to the Finance and Pensions Manager, this plays a pivotal role in developing and continuously revising the CTO’s budgets, financial rules, and regulations. The post holder will control all areas of expenditure and on the revenue side, the Accounting Officer will ensure all receivables are accounted for, actualised, and appropriately posted. The Accounting Officer will ensure the accounting software package is optimised and will be expected to prudently manage the CTO’s cash flow and investment activities. The incumbent will work closely with the IT Administrator to develop and/or revise the accounting system that will be used by the CTO.

We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional with significant experience in a similar capacity in an organisation with a comparable scope and complexity. You will have strong finance and accountancy experience, as well as solid analytical skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Specialised knowledge of Pension Fund Management would be desirable, but not essential.

About Our Client

Established by the telecoms industry in June 2022, TOTSCo (The One Touch Switching Company Ltd) is a member-owned company whose goal is the introduction, in line with new regulations, of switching processes for broadband and voice services in the home and for businesses. The planned date for the implementation of the corresponding One Touch Switch process and technology is 12 September 2024 and is likely to be headline news in the consumer press. Given its unique position in the industry, the governance of TOTSCo is key to its legitimacy and effective operation. TOTSCo is looking for a Chief of Staff to drive the development of its governance and strategy.

Job Description

Reporting to the CEO, the job holder will work closely with the CEO, the executive team and the board on a variety of tasks to help TOTSCo achieve maturity in its governance, decision making and strategy and more generally as an organisation. Tasks include:

• Forward-planning board agendas in the light of strategic and operational priorities
• Preparing papers for board consideration under direction, including appropriate analysis and recommendations
• Support strategic development and implementation
• Preparing periodic board off-site strategy meetings
• Support board committees (e.g. Remco, ARC) in meeting preparation
• Development, management and review of organisational policies, including development of the staff handbook
• Support the board in implementation of Wates code of corporate governance
• Support the executive in preparation and analysis of consultation exercises with stakeholders
• Ad-hoc operational, strategic and organisational projects

Should time allow, additional tasks may extend to a variety of projects such as:

• Assist in analytical tasks such as the interpretation of OTS data
• Compliance analysis (in association with external advisers)
• Development with SMEs of TOTSCo's operations procedures manual

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate experience in such tasks and that could add value in TOTSCo's journey to maturity.

What's on Offer

This role is homeworking and can be performed from anywhere in the UK.

Drive essential income globally from trusts, corporates and major donors with a successful team supporting women entrepreneurs worldwide.

Hand in Hand International help women beat the odds and succeed as entrepreneurs. Since 2003, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, Hand in Hand have helped more than 3 million women launch small businesses that can stand the test of time. Hand in Hand are a lean operation, with 90% of all funds raised being spent directly on programmes in 2023-2024. You will play an important part in maximising funds raised for Hand in Hand, contributing to long-term success.

Reporting directly to Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the primary objective of the role is to manage existing grants and accounts, secure new funding and manage a Philanthropy and Partnerships Officer.

Your key focus will be identifying, creating relationships with and securing donations from corporate and family Trusts and Foundations and/or major donors. The role is highly international, working with colleagues across Afghanistan, Kenya and Tanzania, and a prospect base spread across globe.

Key responsibilities

• Grow income securing five- and six-figure gifts from Trusts and Foundations (60%) Corporate (30%) and Major Donors (10%) supporting an income target of £1.8m.
• Drive the expansion of Hand in Hand’s income by securing significant gifts ranging from five to seven figures from both new and existing donors.
• Engage senior-level donors through calls, meetings, and events to provide updates on project advancements and identify additional donation opportunities.
• Collaborate with UK-based colleagues and in-country teams in the creation of comprehensive proposals, including narrative content, logical frameworks, and budgets.

Ideal experience

• Proven experience in high value fundraising across, trusts, corporate or major donor.
• Proven track record of building strong relationships with donors, and ultimately securing, as part of a team, successful asks of five or six figure gifts from UK and/or non-UK based donors.

Financial Controller - Projects | London | 12-month FTC | £55,000 - £60,000

For a leading global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Financial Controller for a fixed term of 12-months. Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller and working closely with the CEO, this role will lead the financial management and internal controls for the Regional and Country offices and shared service processes and transactions. The Projects Financial Controller will implement robust management reporting, and cash-flow forecasts, and will work with stakeholders to monitor budgets and forecasts. This is a key role within the NGO, and will be instrumental in building Finance knowledge, capacity and delivering training to Regional and country offices.

What you'll be doing:

• Monitoring and improving financial control processes
• Monitoring and analysing Regional, Country, Project and Departmental budgets and reporting including annual accounts of Country offices and reporting to external Donors
• Provide capacity building, training, and Finance support to all stakeholders
• Set up accounting systems for Country Offices and global offices, proposing improvements and robust controls
• Lead monthly and yearly close processes and review and prepare statutory audit deliverables
• Review and validate Country proposals, Donor proposals and reporting
• Review and reconcile Donor and Partner grants and reporting
• Support the migration and consolidation of data for closing processes

What you'll offer:

• Strong experience of financial management processes and reporting within an international development or humanitarian NGO
• Strong experience of financial control, and financial project management

Working across Africa, Asia and Latin America this INGO is based in Central London looking for a strong FP&A leader to join and add value quickly.

The Role:
A newly  created role to help set up the FP&A team by bringing together the FBPs into one team. Reporting directly into the CFO, and working closely with other department heads and SLT to provide analysis for the decision making process within the charity on both an operational and financial basis. A real opportunity to add value quickly, and oversee all aspects of FP&A. Managing a team of 3 FBPs.

The Successful Candidate:

- Fully Qualified Accountant ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
- Demonstrable experience in both Finance Business Partnering and all aspects of Financial Planning and Analysis.

About the charity:

About the role:

You'll play a key role in ensuring MAG's new global fundraising strategy becomes a reality, by developing and implementing multi-channel individual giving campaigns in the US and UK. It's a heady mix of creativity blended with hands-on delivery and implementation, as well as leadership of a small fundraising team (IG Officer and Global Legacy Coordinator).

About you:

Working collaboratively with the Head of Public Fundraising, you'll drive forward the strategic growth of a global individual giving programme. Utilising upgraded investment to build the donor base, you'll aim to improve supporter retention and loyalty and maximise lifetime value.

You'll need in-depth technical knowledge of direct marketing and legacy fundraising techniques, with experience of delivering in the UK or USA. You can adapt your approach and communication style for different audiences and understand the nuance of operating in global markets with differing needs.
