We are hiring this role at a pivotal time for IHP, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary year and undergo a brand refresh. As we celebrate two decades of impact on global health, the ability to effectively communicate IHP’s journey and vision for the future has never been more important.
About the role
The postholder will have a unique opportunity to lead delivery of our communications strategy, supporting the delivery of our organisational objectives and ensuring we maximise our 20th anniversary year to raise IHP’s profile and grow our community.
You’ll manage a small, but fantastic team of committed communications professionals, whilst working alongside other teams to effectively tell IHP’s story, and the stories of those we serve. You’ll work with our fundraising team to collaborate on fundraising campaigns, our Corporate Partnerships team to engage pharmaceutical and logistics partners in new and exciting ways, and our Programmes team to work directly with NGO partners to gather content and demonstrate our impact through effective storytelling.
You will also be a part of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for setting the strategic vision and direction of the organisation. This is a temporary role as a maternity cover starting in July 2024.
What you’ll be working on
- Lead on IHP’s 20th anniversary campaign including overseeing a pivotal stakeholder engagement event
- Implement and embed IHP’s newly developed brand identity across the organisation and across external channels.
-Oversee the marketing strategy for our self-designed and revolutionary software system, Boaz, helping to reach new customers and position as a leader in its field.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders to develop communications opportunities and amplify IHP’s voice including employee engagement opportunities.
- Manage relationship with our social media agency to effectively execute IHP’s communications objectives and grow our audiences and engagement.
- Oversee the marketing delivery of our annual Christmas fundraising campaign.

The key responsibilities we entrust you with
Project support
- Contribute to outreach to project stakeholders, Community Members, partners & event attendees, answering and directing queries and scheduling appointments and virtual/ in-person meetings
- Organise meeting logistics, agenda preparation, notetaking, audio recording and the tracking and implementation of follow up actions and communications
- Carry out background research, review documents, and gather and analyse information using templates and tools such as Excel
- Coordinate project processes, including implementing procurement procedures, drafting contracts with consultants (based on ISEAL templates) and maintaining project-related systems
- Maintain web pages related to event and programme activities and support email and social media campaigns; upload blogs, documents, and resources
- Support drafting and production of relevant newsletters, website articles, and report sections
- Proof-read, edit, design, and format documents in Word and Powerpoint, using ISEAL templates
- Support organisation and delivery of virtual, hybrid, and in person meetings and community engagement, provide technical support during Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings, operate other engagement tools (e.g. EasyRetro, Miro, Jamboard, etc)

Essential attributes, skills & knowledge
- Experience working in a project or stakeholder commnications role, in a highly collaborative environment such as an international NGO
- Understanding of sustainability systems and how they work to help deliver change on sustainability issues
- Experience and comfort working with subject matter of a niche or specialist nature, possibly gained through data analysis, project communications, and/or the review and analysis of data sets, academic research, technical reports, and policy documents
- Strong organisational skills, and experience with administration, meeting coordination, logistics, contracts, budget tracking, etc.
- Confidence in communications with peers and external partners, comfortable in public speaking situations (e.g. webinars, workshops etc)
- Good time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently with precision and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and spoken English, with proven ability to write clearly and concisely on a range of topics
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fully remote, international environment, including regular international time-zone calls

IRW’s Network Resource and Development Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Communications Capacity Building Manager’ to join its dynamic Global Family Development team on a full-time, permanent basis, to based out of any of our IR offices globally.
The Communications Capacity Building Manager reports directly to the Global Content Manager and supports the development and implementation of the content vision and strategy. The job holder works primarily with communications colleagues and Country Directors in IR country and hybrid offices to build their capacity and capability in communications, content gathering, media, brand awareness raising and local public engagement. The job holder also works with Member and other IRW stakeholders to ensure the capacity and capabilities in country offices are appropriate for meeting their requirements and business needs.
The role holder also facilitates appropriate communications training for field office staff and acts as an advisor to communications leads in field offices.
The successful candidate must have or be:
· A degree level qualification in communications or a marketing discipline.

Purpose of the Role
Scope and Authority
Authority:
The Content & Creative Studio Project Manager provides project management for a fast-paced creative and content group that supports the IRC’s External Relations Functions.
This position leads small-to-medium-sized creative projects, with a primary focus on emergency and content projects. The Project Manager helps coordinate emergency appeals and works across matrixed teams of channel leads and creatives to drive the production delivery of assets and communications. As a key project lead, this role proactively identifies issues and removes roadblocks, and looks for ways to streamline and improve our production processes.
The position reports to the Director of the Content & Creative Studio Planning and Operations, and works closely with colleagues across Fundraising and Communications teams, and regularly interacts with IRC staff across the organization.
Responsibility for Resources:
· Coordinate cross-team communications for Emergency Appeals
· Manage emergency after action reviews, Emergency Action Group channels, leadership/staff announcements on new appeal scoring
· Coordinate and manage information and content gathering to support fundraising & partnership opportunities
· Support on management of influx on creative assets needs for emergency appeals

Role Purpose
To fulfil its Programme Strategy 2022-2027, ShelterBox’s programming will be guided by two Shelter Technical leads, one with a greater focus on emergency response and one with a greater focus on transitional and durable shelters and WASH. The two positions - working in close coordination and collaboration - will collaborate with the Programme Quality and Programme Delivery teams, to maximise the quality of ShelterBox’s programming in alignment with our renewed mission, vision, and strategy, under the leadership of the Head of Programme Quality.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Provide technical input into shelter and WASH project design and development, ensuring that shelter technical standards are documented in project sheltering strategies and tools, and that these standards are adhered to throughout the project cycle.
- Continually assess ShelterBox’s technical strengths and areas for improvement, identify approaches to addressing areas for improvement and work with relevant colleagues to put these into action.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to needs assessment, project design and delivery, including through participating in project design, reviewing concept notes/proposals and presence in-country where this is necessary to support the quality of high priority activities.
- Support partners technical shelter knowledge and capacity development, ensuring that their activities are aligned with organisational and global humanitarian standards.
- Ensure that shelter projects consider priority cross-cutting issues such as, environment, housing land and property rights, protection, gender and inclusion, and safety; and that site activities comply with appropriate local, national, and international standards and regulations.
