We are recruiting a team of enthusiastic volunteers for the return of the Talking Peace Festival this September in London.
The Talking Peace Festival is a global arts and cultural platform designed to engage people in the most urgent issues of peace and conflict around the world.
Running for its fifth year on Saturday 21 September 2019, this one-day festival takes over Flat Iron Square, a cultural hub in London Bridge. And for the first time it is being organised by five members of the +Peace coalition, who are coming together to tackle global levels of violence and division and transition culture, policy and politics in support of peacebuilding. International Alert, together with Conciliation Resources, Mercy Corps, Peace Direct and Saferworld are curating an eclectic programme of events including art, food, photography, talks and music to showcase the power of words and highlight some of the inspirational peacebuilding work taking place around the world.
We are looking for volunteers to join our team and help us make the festival a great success!
What we are asking for:
We are looking for highly organised and positive team players to help with the day-to-day running of events – setting up, setting down, promotion, distributing of flyers, welcoming guests and ensuring things run smoothly.
We are also looking for people who can demonstrate some of the following skills or experience:
- Running and promoting events;
- Video/ film making;
- Design and decoration;
What we offer:
An opportunity to be part of a friendly and busy team that delivers an innovative cultural festival and meet a range of interesting people and learn more about the fascinating work of peacebuilding.
Lunch expenses reimbursement of up to £5.00 a day for volunteers working a minimum of four hours per day and reasonable travel expenses to and from work (within London).

Please send a CV and brief covering letter stating why you would like to volunteer for the Talking Peace Festival 2019, and highlighting any particular skills you might have (e.g. events planning, multimedia, social media, etc.). Please also state your availability for the following period: 19 September – 21 September, including for evening, weekday and weekend work.
