About the Role:
The Global Governance & Compliance Manager will lead arrangements for governance and coordinate corporate and legal compliance across the organisation. Working with the trustees and senior leaders as a trusted advisor, you will provide day-to-day coordination and oversight of all governance bodies, meetings and working groups and ensuring efficient information flows between all boards and committees.
About You:
You will have a strong track record of Global Governance, Compliance and best practice across Asia Pacific, Africa and Europe.
You must have:
- Developed and implemented organisation-wide Global Governance Plans in the Not-for -profit sector.
- Organised and facilitated and ensured that good practice is met during executive meetings.
- Worked as a company secretary.
- Been involved in the recruitment and training of trustees, non-executive board members and advisors to the charity in line with the charities ED&I commitment.
- Experience of overseeing all regulatory requirements, legal interactions, regulatory compliance, procurement, insurance and contracts.
- Experience of coordinating necessary regulatory and legal changes to support the development of the organisation including registrations in new countries.
- Delivered a business resilience strategy to ensure the organisation can respond to, manage and recover from disruptive incidents effectively and efficiently.
- Implemented annual training to support the business continuity strategy, plans and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or qualified by demonstrable experience.
- Holds or is willing to work towards a recognised qualification in Governance / Risk management.
- Member of ICSA with substantial experience in governance and/or risk management or its equivalent.

Extensive experience and knowledge of audit, banking, foreign currency, Gift Aid and VAT is required together with exposure to payroll and accounts payable.
With assistance from direct reports, duties will include but not be limited to:
• Responsible for ensuring the financial accounts department meets the needs of users of their services and the requirements of the charity.
• Develop and maintain efficient and effective financial systems and controls.

Project and Finance Manager
The Hanns Seidel Foundation is a German publicly funded political foundation with its headquarters in Munich and offices around the world. The London office was established in 2019 and its main activities are international conferences, smaller panel-discussions/ roundtables, and high-level delegation visits primarily in the UK. The focus of the Foundation’s work is in key political areas such as bilateral UK-German relations and Europe, security and defence issues, the economy, and devolution/federalism where it often cooperates with renowned partner organisations. We are looking to hire a project and finance manager at the earliest possible date to work as an essential part of our small dynamic office who will support the UK director in carrying out projects&activities, running the London office and who will be responsible for accurate accounting presentable to both German and UK authorities. The post holder will work closely with the London director and coordinate with colleagues at the Foundation’s German HQ, and should speak at least basic German.
Key responsibilities will include:
Project and event management support
- Support UK director in planning, organising, and carrying out events, delegation visits by requesting quotes, researching venues, booking flights/transport/hotels etc. and receiving high level participants and visitors
- Maintaining contact management systems and monitoring and evaluation data, drafting reports, newsletters, and mailing lists
Office and Finance management
- Financial administration of projects and London office including budget planning in close coordination with the Foundation’s Headquarters in Munich

About you
- Relevant degree/qualification (Master or equivalent years of experience) in social sciences, finance management, business administration or similar
- 2-3 years of project/event/financial management experience primarily in the UK
- Native or near-native English skills, at least basic German (intermediate/advanced desirable)
- Excellent MS Office and Adobe Acrobat skills, proficient in Windows apps as well as proven experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero)
- Be familiar with current PAYE, pension regulations, HMRC, and Companies House.
- A great self-starter who is not afraid to take the initiative and to solve arising problems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, responding flexibly to changing demands of the role, and adapting quickly to new and complex systems and software

Our partner is an international development agency. - Manage the schedule for the organisational Single Audit, responding to audit queries, auditor concerns and findings in a timely manner.
- Lead in implementing the Single Audit and any grant audit recommendations, ensuring that senior leadership are aware of outcomes and corrective actions being taken.
- Develop tools and training materials to support staff in preparing for audits, and support the broader team in rolling out training on policies and procedures relation to grants management and compliance.
- Support in undertaking any special investigations as required
Requirements
- Qualified or QBE auditor, with at least 5 years of experience in managing donor grant audits within the international development sector. This includes planning and organising audits, and working with a range of stakeholders to achieve successful audit completion.
- At least four years of demonstrable knowledge of the compliance and requirements of institutional donors – ideally including US government, European government and FCDO grants.
- Strong communication skills, both written (report writing) and oral, in English. Working knowledge of an additional language, such as French or Spanish is desirable, but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, experienced in working with a range of internal and stakeholders effectively and able to be tactful and have sensitive/challenging conversations.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong financial, analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally.
