Job description
This organisation supports anonymous recruitment. That means hiding your personal identifying information, removing bias from the hiring process.

This rewarding role will train you up in a fast-growing charity that is helping improve access to medicines worldwide, saving lives and preventing avoidable suffering.  International Health Partners (IHP) supports people in hard-to-reach, vulnerable and disaster-hit communities to get the medicines they need, by coordinating the safe and responsible donation of long-dated medical products. We work with our strong network of global healthcare, logistics and NGO partners, to source and send treatments to where they are needed most, to help prevent the needless suffering caused by a lack of access to healthcare.  Our work is needed now more than ever. The global outbreak of COVID-19 has further highlighted the urgent need for improving access to medicines and for strengthening health systems.  In the last two years, IHP has sent over 20 million treatments to vulnerable communities around the world including places such as Yemen, Lebanon, South Sudan and Haiti.  One of our in country partners recently described us as 'small but mighty'.

The medicines provided range from life saving antibiotics to treatments for chronic health conditions like diabetes and hypertension - where an interruption in access to daily medicines can cause severe health complications and even death. We are acting on key global health challenges including helping to reduce maternal and child mortality, tackling neglected tropical diseases, and enabling people to manage non-communicable diseases effectively – thus preventing avoidable disabilities.

Our logistics team keep our inventory of donated medicines up to date and arrange the shipments of these vital medicines all around the world.  This means entering and maintaining data on systems, preparing shipping documentation and liaising with pharmaceutical companies and our overseas NGO partners who receive the medicines for disaster response and health programmes.

We are looking for someone numerate with excellent attention to detail, good at problem solving and enjoys processes.  We can provide full training in the role.

IHP is an Equal Opportunities Employer. Staff regularly spend time together praying for IHP’s work and there is therefore an occupational requirement that this position is held by a committed Christian. Please make it clear in the application how you meet this requirement.

If you would like to use your skills to make a real difference please apply now.  The closing date for all applications is 10th June . Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and as such, suitable candidates may be invited to a conversation ahead of the closing date. Please submit your CV with a covering letter of no more than two A4 sides outlining how you meet the criteria set out in the person specification.

We offer excellent benefits including a company pension scheme, employee wellbeing and benefits support, training, development and a generous holiday entitlement. Our newest staff describe our culture as 'compassionate', 'dynamic' and 'rewarding', a place where you will be supported to 'thrive professionally and personally',  In short, IHP is a great place to work and the role we play is genuinely rewarding.

Application Instructions

Please submit a CV and covering letter outlining how you meet the person specification. This should include reference to how you meet the occupational faith requirement and confirmation that you have the right to work in the UK. Applications without a covering letter will not be considered.
