SheDecides is a global political movement driving change, fuelled by actions in communities, with young people at its heart. The SheDecides Support Unit (SDSU) serves as secretariat to the global SheDecides movement, under the governance of the Guiding Group of SheDecides Champions, and the leadership of the Lead. The SDSU is hosted by the IPPF Central Office. It is an autonomous entity with its own strategy (2019-2021), budget and governance structure.
The SheDecides Communications Advisor will oversee development and implementation of the Movement’s communications strategy and capacity, under our new Theory of Change.
The Communications Advisor will be educated to degree level and have significant professional experience in marketing, brand management, communications or public relations. They will have experience in advancing gender equality, bodily autonomy and/or sexual and reproductive rights, and have experience working collaboratively on multi country initiatives. Experience will also be required of working in a fast moving and complex institution across multiple countries, and thereby being able to deliver results through others in order to meet agreed objectives.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to work effectively and credibly with young people and people from diverse backgrounds/countries. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to plan and implement major projects, and to transform strategies into results. Excellent at English, with the ability to speak Spanish, French or Arabic as desirable.
