IPSEA is a national charity providing free legally-based independent information, advice and casework support to the families of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
Working with IPSEA’s Chief Executive and legal team, we are recruiting a Policy Manager to take lead responsibility for IPSEA’s engagement with central and local government and key stakeholders, building on our established reputation and existing relationships.
The role will involve:
- identifying and agreeing policy priorities for IPSEA and developing new policy thinking that is credible and influential
- monitoring the policy landscape and parliamentary proceedings relevant to IPSEA’s policy priorities, and
- developing and maintaining effective relationships with key external stakeholders including local government officials, MPs, government ministers and civil servants to keep them informed about IPSEA’s work and policy concerns.
The role is home-based with occasional visits to the IPSEA office in Saffron Walden, Essex (once the office reopens).
This is a new and exciting role for someone with extensive experience in a senior policy and campaigning role, and an interest in SEND.
