Our client is currently looking for an experienced Corporate Health and Safety Manager to provide Health and Safety, Compliance and Risk Management expertise, ensuring the business to complies with legal and operational requirements in terms of their staff, services and properties.
You will work collaboratively across all functions and teams to ensure that services are delivered within statutory and regulatory standards and provide strategic advice to the Corporate Management Team to ensure that the organisation promptly responds to new statutory and / or regulatory requirements.
Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining adverse incident and health and safety management framework, you will undertake planned and reactive work-place health and safety monitoring inspections to check compliance with policies and procedures and that we are compliant with current legislation and best practices.
You will ensure risk assessments are carried out across the organisation, and that adequate control measures are effectively implemented. You will support the development of staff briefings / communications that raise awareness of health and safety matters, whilst advising on a range of specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, food safety and noise.
What they are looking for
The successful candidate will have the NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification and a high understanding of legislation and regulatory requirements in either Social Housing or Older people services. You will have a comprehensive and working understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any associated legislation.
They are looking for someone who has excellent written, oral and administration skills. You will have the ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and produce high quality information reports, with meticulous attention to detail.
You will have demonstrable initiative, with the ability to prioritise high volumes of work whilst maintaining deadlines. We are looking for someone who is able to meet the needs of this role in a diverse organisation, providing social housing, supported housing and homes with care.
