This key role presents an excellent opportunity to see projects through from conception to completion and to play a part in shaping how we work and what we do. You will have responsibility for day-to-day operation of UCISA, including technical Infrastructure and systems used to deliver UCISA’s services to our members. You will deputise on operational matters for the CEO and represent and advocate for UCISA alongside other management team colleagues.
You will be reporting directly to and working closely with UCISA’s CEO and have opportunities to develop your own skills in running an organisation in an innovative and agile way. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our operations run smoothly and that people are productive.
The role sits within the Management Team and the post holder will deputise for the CEO alongside management colleagues.
Summary of key Terms and Conditions
Contract: Permanent Full time, Oxford based, hybrid
Hours per week: 37.5, Monday-Friday with some flexibility to support UCISA events and participate in team days
Salary: £55,000-£65,000 per year (depending on candidate experience and skill set)
Leave: 30 days annual leave & 8 Bank Holidays
Pension: Defined Contribution scheme (6.7% employer contribution, voluntary employee contribution 0-6.7%)

About the role
We are the largest membership body for voluntary organisations in England. The needs of communities are diverse and ever-changing. This means the role charities play, and what they need, constantly evolve.
We hold a wealth of data. We need our data to become meaningful insight that helps tell the story of our members and the sector. Both to aid internal strategic decision making and to influence external audiences.
The insight lead will be integral to realising this ambition ‒ combining our analytical and sector research with our internal data. They will establish NCVO’s Insight Hub which will house the highest quality data and insight, and be respected and valued by external stakeholders.
We’re already revered for our Almanac and other research projects, which the insight lead will further expand. They will also develop the strategy, review our research programme, and embed a culture of using insights across the organisation.
This is a dual role. The insight lead will act as a champion for the voice of the customer internally – ensuring business decisions and strategic priorities are based on insight, and that we’re collecting and managing data in the most compliant way.
They will also take a strong external leadership approach ‒ looking for partners, technologies, AI solutions and funding opportunities so we can strengthen what we know about the sector, and how we report and share information. They will review our existing approach to research and harness opportunities from our unique perspective.

We help young people and adults overcome structural barriers and self-limiting behaviours that are holding them back. Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for driving and managing the central administrative and core infrastructure functions across the charity. The British Association for Holistic Medicine and Health Care (BHMA) is a charity, with a small team, dedicated to promoting holism in healthcare. We are a membership organisation that is 40 years old this year and has produced a respected journal for over 20 years.
Role Overview & Aims
We are looking for someone who will drive the BHMA into a new phase of growth. Someone with passion and dedication who will believe in our purpose and help us achieve this. We want to grow our reach and find new members, journal subscribers and people to enrol on our course. We also want to start producing professional webinars and podcasts in the run up to our conference this Autumn. We would also like to streamline the administrative running of the BHMA to make it more efficient and sustainable, whilst growing our income streams.
How we work
The BHMA operates as a remote team however the hub is in the Bath/Bristol area with our AGM & a conference to be held near Bristol in 2024. We have 2-3 evening Zoom meetings per month and our remote administrator works mornings.
You will work from home using your own computer, however occasional face-to-face meetings would be a bonus.
Roles & responsibilities
Main duties:

Liaise with the trustees and attend meetings to provide regular updates on the ‘health’ of the charity and to share your vision for strengthening marketing and operations.

Governance - ensuring the charity adheres to data protection policies,the requirements of the Charity Commission, and any other legal requirements

About the GOC We are the regulator for the optical professions in the UK. Our purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct.
About the Council:
The role of Council is to lead on the GOC’s mission to protect and promote the health and safety of the public and patients; as well as maintaining public confidence in the professions. The Council is composed of six lay members (including the Chair) and six registrant members (i.e. registered optometrists and dispensing opticians). At least one member of the Council must work wholly or mainly in each of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. One Council member acts as a Senior Council Member whose role is to carry out the Chair’s appraisal as well as provide a sounding board for the Chair and serve as an intermediary for Council members, Executive and stakeholders as necessary.
