Permanent, Full-time
Job description

Itad is a leading international development consultancy providing advice to governments, foundations, multilateral agencies development finance institutes, private sector and non-profits on how to maximise the impact of their investments. We have a 35-year track record of providing our clients with the information and insight they need to make development work smarter, produce better results and improve people’s lives.

Our knowledge and expertise are grouped around four practice areas: Inclusive Growth and Climate Change, Fragile and Conflict-affected Settings, Human Development and Governance and Institutional Strengthening.

The Role

We are recruiting for four Analysts to join our exciting programme designed to provide early-career professionals with the skills and experience to start out in monitoring, evaluation and learning consultancy in the international development sector. Joining our team in September, you will work on projects across our whole portfolio, contributing to project delivery and business development activities as well as supporting our reputational capital and market presence.  A series of four six-month rotations across our practice areas will give you the opportunity to experience a wide variety of projects, approaches and methods.

As well as rotating through our practice areas to support a breadth of experience, we will make sure that you have at least one longer-term ‘anchor’ project which you will work on from start to finish for a deeper dive into a project team, approach and client.

The core technical strengths of all our consultants are focused around four key areas:

  • Evidence Advocate:  generating robust evidence and using this to support clients and shape global debates;
  • Change Agent:  supporting clients in reflecting, learning and managing change;
  • Project Manager: contributing to and building high performing project teams that deliver quality and commercial targets;
  • Trusted Advisor: building long term relationships with clients and partners that add value and deliver commercial success.

While we understand you will probably be at the start of your career, we expect analysts to have a base level of skill across these four strengths.  To support further development in these areas, we provide a comprehensive learning and development programme tailored to Analyst level entry, in addition to a mentor.  When you join us, we will work with you to map your strengths and identify areas for support and develop a personalised programme of development, training and on the job learning.

The Candidate

You will have a relevant undergraduate degree, and will have already applied this within the international development or research sector.  As an evidence advocate you will have a solid grounding in a range of data collection and analysis methods and will have applied this to generate clear evidence-based insights.   As a change agent you will be able to effectively contribute to group discussions flexing your communication style to influence others.  As a project manager, you will be adept at planning and managing your own time and pro-actively highlighting questions and issues.  As a trusted adviser you will be able to present research in a meaningful, relevant way to our clients.

What you can expect from us

Itad commits to your development as an early career professional. We have designed this programme to build skills in a range of areas, through both professional experience and a tailored learning and development series. The programme is overseen and supported by a Programme Director, as well as through our usual line management processes. A buddy system will be in place to smooth the process of rotating into your next practice.

Our offices are open for staff to work in, but we have also embraced the benefits of flexible, remote work. Our teams are balancing time together in the office with focused time at home in the aim of getting the ‘best of both’.

The salary for this role is up to £26K, in addition, we also offer a comprehensive learning and development programme, 24 days holiday plus additional time off over Christmas, matched company pension up to 5%, and a discretionary bonus.

The deadline for applications is July 16th although initial interviews will be held on a rolling basis until then.  Interviews will be held week commencing July 19th and successful candidates will join us week commencing September 6th.  It’s important to note that you will already have the right to live and work in the UK.
