Job Description

JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity, improving lives until we find the cure.  We fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. We also provide information for children and adults living with the condition at all stages from diagnosis and beyond.  We give a voice to people with type 1 diabetes and campaign for an increased focus on and funding for research to find the cure. Internationally we have funded £1billion of research so far.

We want our employees to be committed and prepared to go the extra mile to assist us in finding the cure for type 1. Whatever your role is within JDRF you can be guaranteed that your work will always be rewarding.

As Head of Challenge and Sport Events you will continue to build and develop the portfolio of events, including the Cycle for a Cure bike ride in partnership with Ford.  You will also oversee the continued growth of our running events, in line with the new strategy and the current sector trends, working closely with the Challenge and Sports Events Manager.

As well as delivering the current event portfolio you will be expected to look at new fundraising income streams around challenge and sport activities. Looking at areas the charity can develop along, taking advantage of potential partnerships.

You will lead and motivate a team in building a department that within the next three years will be delivering income of £1million+ per year.

In return we offer, a generous annual leave entitlement rising with length of service, flexible working, pension scheme, interest free season ticket/bike loan and  Health Cash Plan.
