Job description

The primary role of the People Support Officer is to provide guidance and support to the beneficiaries of JERICHO's social projects.

Whilst the position is mainly based at JERICHO's ReUsers social enterprise the role requires regular travel across all our sites.

  • Job Title: People Support Officer
  • Salary: £22,000 per annum (pro-rata)
  • Working Hours: 22.5 per week (flexible working will be considered)
  • Reports to: People Support Manager
  • Based at: The ReUsers, Norris Way, Sutton Coldfield, B75 7BB

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The role will include such tasks as:

  • Mentoring beneficiaries to ensure they remain engaged and on schedule to achieve
  • Providing wrap around and tailored support to beneficiaries including signposting to specialist support
  • Writing witness statements on the progress and ability of the beneficiaries in the workplace
  • Liaising with external agencies, particularly when referring clients into specialist support
  • Liaising with JERICHO's social enterprises about beneficiaries' progress
  • Providing employability and job search support to beneficiaries reaching the end of the programme
  • Attending job centres, jobs fairs, outreach projects or community events
  • Collecting feedback and participating in beneficiary focus groups
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Line Manager

Skills & Experience

  • A self-motivated person, with a mature, professional outlook, who can also motivate others
  • Evidence of ability and/or experience of working with socially-excluded or marginalised people
  • Evidence of ability and/or experience at helping people grow in confidence and self esteem such that they can achieve their true potential
  • Knowledge and experience of support, mentoring, training or advice work
  • An ability to prepare one’s own work plan and manage the activities of others

Additional Consideration Will Be Given For The Following

  • Level 3 IAG or above
  • Mentoring qualification
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle which you are prepared to use for business use (expenses will be paid for business mileage)
  • Experience of working in a multi-ethnic, multi- faith setting
