Job description

The primary role of the Reception and Workspace Supervisor is to train a small team of beneficiaries on JERICHO's social projects whilst ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the head office reception and the Jericho Workspace social enterprise.

  • Job Title: Reception & Workspace Supervisor
  • Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum
  • Working Hours: 37.5 per week
  • Reports to: People Support Manager
  • Based at: JERICHO, 196-198 Edward Road, Birmingham, B12 9LX

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The role will include such tasks as:

Jericho Reception

  • Training and supporting a small team of beneficiaries for a wide range of reception and admin duties
  • Delivering JERICHO's training manual
  • Supporting beneficiaries to ensure they remain engaged and reach their potential
  • Supporting beneficiaries with their qualifications
  • Liaising with the People Support Team regarding beneficiaries' progress and concerns
  • Maintaining health & safety records
  • General building housekeeping
  • General reception duties such as:
  • Answering and directing phone calls for JERICHO & workspace tenants
  • Greeting visitors & dealing with their enquiries
  • Sorting & distributing incoming post
  • Photocopying, filing, laminating and other office duties
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Line Manager

Jericho Workspace

  • Showing potential tenants around the workspace
  • Setting up new licence agreements
  • Workspace tenant liaison/customer services,
  • Sorting coffee, tea, milk, printers, room bookings, setting up for meetings
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Line Manager

Skills & Experience

  • A self-motivated person, with a mature, professional outlook, who can also motivate others
  • Evidence of ability and/or experience at helping people grow in confidence and self esteem such that they can achieve their true potential
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting and training others
  • An ability to prepare one’s own work plan and manage the activities of others
  • Experience of managing a reception or administration team
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs

Additional Consideration Will Be Given For The Following

  • Evidence of ability and/or experience of working with socially-excluded or marginalised people
  • A recognised business administration qualification
  • Experience of working in a multi-ethnic, multi- faith setting
