Job description

Coming from either a campaigning or communications background, you must have a proven ability to write great copy, the digital skills to make the best use of our website and social media, and the energy and ideas to organise campaigns.

This role is responsible for making our constituency and the general public aware of JM’s work through the media (print and digital, social media, blogs, direct communications and other online platforms etc.) and giving them a chance to engage in campaigns which can help to apply pressure for change where it is needed to achieve our campaign goals. Central to this purpose is the need to communicate in an appropriate and relevant way the mission and values of Jesuit Missions as a Catholic, Ignatian organisation.

You will help devise and deliver a strategy which identifies opportunities and stories which build the profile of Jesuit Missions with existing and new audiences. While the work is challenging, this is an unrivalled opportunity for a rising campaigning or communications professional to build on their experience and make their mark on a great cause.

The role is varied and involves drafting and producing materials; developing campaign actions;, as well as keeping up to date with all relevant issues relating to our work in this area.

For over 50 years, Jesuit Missions has been working with poor communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Their story deserves to be told and we’d like you to help us do it.

We provide financial support for projects in poor communities across the world. We work in schools and parishes in the UK promoting reflection and action in line with the Jesuit commitment "to serve the faith through the promotion of justice."

Our small team of nine staff is based in South London. We have an annual income of c£1 million and lots of ambition to grow our work.

As the Jesuits are a global religious order, we’re also part of an international network which creates real opportunities for collaboration so that we can maximise our impact.

If you'd like to be part of our life-changing and inspiring work, we'd love to hear from you.
