About Jimmy’s Cambridge
Jimmy's is one of Cambridge’s leading providers of support and accommodation to people who are experiencing homelessness. We help people get off the streets and into their own home, backed up with all the support we can offer from our talented and committed team of staff, volunteers and partners.
Our success in delivering our services is underpinned by the support we receive from individuals, organisations, our volunteers and our partners, all of whom are fundamental to our work. In addition to maintaining a sustainable set of existing services, we also have ambitious plans to increase our services and impact, ensuring we can support as many people as possible who are and have been experiencing homelessness.
Purpose of the Role
As an organisation we have decided to utilise Inform as our service management database (which is a Salesforce product), in line with other homeless organisations in Cambridge and the City Council; and Salesforce Non-Profit as our donor/funder database. While we are already working with a Salesforce consultant to ensure the new databases meet our needs, we want to build up internal capacity to enable the best use of the data for learning, research and ultimately better service provision.
The post-holder will support the Head of Services to embed Inform as our service management database across the teams and set it up to produce reports to helps us improve our services; and work with the Communications/Fundraising Team to further develop and embed Salesforce Non-Profit as our donor/funder database
As this evolves, there will opportunities to work with the CEO and research partners (including at Cambridge University), to use the data and information we are collecting to evaluate the impact of our services, and collect evidence which has a wider influence about how homeless services can be delivered (e.g. by publishing ‘insight reports’).
You will come with experience of data management or analysis, gained in a work, volunteer or educational setting. You will need excellent IT skills, with a real aptitude for Excel and the capability to quickly learn Salesforce, which is the basis of the two databases we are using. You will be interested in the work that Jimmy's does, and understand the importance of data collection to measure and then share the impact of our work, enabling us to tackle homelessness to the best of our ability.
