Job description

The John Muir Award, the main engagement initiative of the John Muir Trust, is a leading environmental award scheme focused on wild places. With support from NatureScot and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority, we are recruiting a John Muir Award Officer post in Scotland. This post will build on an eight-year partnership with the National Park and join an existing staff team to promote and develop the John Muir Award throughout Scotland. This will be a one-year fixed term full-time post (with anticipated continued funding).

The post-holder will manage and increase John Muir Award activity in Scotland by supporting organisations who provide the Award, primarily schools but also through the informal education sector. The role will include recording and reporting Award activity as well as being part of a team meeting specific NatureScot and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park targets including training delivery.

The post will be based with other John Muir Trust staff at the Glasgow Science Centre, Glasgow, with the potential for homeworking, and one-day per week at National Park Office, Balloch, West Dunbartonshire.
