young people and employers to respond to the pressing imperative to overcome the structural

Job Purpose
The Engagement Lead is an exciting and important role that leads delivery of Babbasa’s Challenge
Programme - a 5 year programme focussed on working with a group of aspiring young people to
develop their leadership potential, skills and sense of self confidence through a stimulating and
experiential training course, delivering a social action project and participating in 1:1 mentoring
sessions. The Challenge Programme is the flagship Babbasa programme and has delivered some
powerful initiatives in Bristol to date such as the Youth Ambassadors City of Change campaign
and the ‘Our Bristol Our World’ Youth Conference working closely with Bristol’s elected Mayor.
The post is funded by The National Lottery (TNL) Reaching Communities Fund and has been
nominated as a national case study example of the Lottery’s community projects.
Core Responsibilities
● Deliver outreach workshops to young people in education and community settings aimed at
increasing their sense of confidence, belonging and empowerment.
● Deliver and facilitate Babbasa’s workshop and training activities including the recruitment,
enrolment and induction of participants (Youth Ambassadors) onto the Challenge
programme.
● Design and deliver weekly training and workshop materials through the use of appropriate
teaching, learning and assessment methods - with the aim of encouraging critical thinking,
debates and developing the ability of participants to engage in critical discourse and rational
thinking. Including the incorporation of experiential leadership development opportunities
and trips e.g. to the UK Parliament or social impact organisations with high impact.
● Build a trusting relationship (based on Babbasa values) with young people engaged - to
ensure we meet their progression outcome and identify/address any health and safety,
disability, equality, concerns or welfare issues.
● Lead a group of young people in the delivery of a social action project which develops their
employability and enterprise knowledge and experience
● Support Youth Ambassadors to engage successfully with businesses and city wide voluntary
organisations, schools, colleges and local youth agencies on the social action project.
● Coordinate a mentoring scheme after the social action project, which includes matching,
training, and facilitation of first meetings and reviewing progress of mentoring pairs.
● Monitor and evaluate each of the core elements of the Challenge programme and assist to
produce a final report after the 6-month programme cycle.
General Responsibilities
● Ensure young peoples’ comments, voices and suggestions are at the heart of service
delivery and respond to their needs.
● Ensure internal administrative tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner as
required by Babbasa and the activity funder.

The Individual Giving Officer will work closely with the Director of Fundraising & Engagement and the Head of Fundraising to deliver significant elements of the charity’s fundraising strategy, in particular our Individual Giving income. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Campaign project management:

Reporting and analysis:

Pay and conditions

Specific responsibilities

Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.
Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

Fellowship Programme Officer Role & Responsibilities
Fellowships
- Lead on New Fellows Team cases and provide comprehensive support to Cara Fellows using trauma-informed practice.

Job Purpose
We are seeking a Finance Officer, based in our office in Newquay, Cornwall. The Finance Officer will provide financial, HR and administrative support to the Director of Finance and Administration and wider team. The Finance Officer role handles confidential matters and manages a varied workload, working independently to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks. Role Overview

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Client Services Team which operates within HBF’s vibrant, multi-disciplinary team. The duties of Client Services Administrator are two-fold 1) is to host our busy reception area and friendly waiting room; welcome clients and visiting professionals to the Helen Bamber Foundation and attend to any needs they might have and 2) to oversee the booking of appointments between clients and staff/volunteers across the organisation; liaising with third parties and clinicians in relation to Initial Assessments; booking and managing doctor’s diaries for our Medical Advisory Services and the booking of interpreters across the organisation. Role description
As the Events and Partnerships Officer you’ll be responsible for developing and managing AMOSSHE’s events portfolio and building strategic partnerships. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Event planning and execution:
o Organising in-person conferences, online events and webinars.
o Collaborating with external partners to ensure successful event delivery.
o Managing logistics, budgets, and participant engagement.
2. Partnership development:
o Identifying and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including universities, speakers, and industry partners.
o Exploring sponsorship opportunities and securing funding for AMOSSHE events.
o Coordinating collaborative initiatives with partner organisations.
Qualifications and skills

We are looking to recruit someone with a real interest in organisational development and training to work with the Management & Leadership Hub Director in all aspects of the Hub’s work. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and expand their knowledge and experience but who also wants an opportunity to take the lead in developing and delivering resources, training and support.
The LAPG Management & Leadership Hub exists to provide training, consultancy and capacity building resources to non-profit specialist advice organisations (like Law Centres and Local Citizens Advice).In addition, we are actively building a community of managers across the non-profit advice sector.
We also provide the Funder Plus (grantee support) programme for grantees of the Access to Justice Foundation and London Legal Support Trust.This includes the provision of training (on issues such as management and leadership skills) and resources (policies, procedures, templates and guidance etc.) as well as consultancy support, mentoring and troubleshooting.
The Hub is run by Matthew Howgate, an experienced sector consultant and trainer.Hosted by LAPG its aim is to help sustain and strengthen the advice sector thus expanding access to advice for the vulnerable and marginalised.
We believe that by strengthening management, leadership and governance within organisations we can both make those organisations more resilient and help create space for them to help more people.
This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026, with the possibility of extension if additional funding can be secured.There is also the potential for this to become a full-time role if additional funding can be secured.
We are willing to consider accepting a candidate as a secondee provided that the secondment lasts not less than 12 months, and the appointee can commit the full 21 hours per week.This means that people in existing management and development roles who wish to maintain those roles whilst developing their skills will be considered.
