Just Homes charity are looking for a committed, enthusiastic Women’s Project Key Worker (part time 3 days a week) to join our Women’s work team that provides help to homeless people in The London Borough of Newham, to rebuild their lives. We work with women and children who have no recourse to public funds based in 12 rooms spread across three houses. We also work with unemployed men who can access state benefits in 48 rooms spread across four sites.
First Fruit is the holding charity for Just Homes and also delivers the social enterprises providing skills opportunities for residents. They are Christian Charities which are non-denominational and inclusive, which serve people of all faiths and none with respect.
The job role has two main aspects:
- As part of a team provide one to one support to the women clients.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running and management of the accommodation provisions of the women’s side.
On the support aspect, you will meet with clients and deliver one to one support as may be necessary. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is willing to work with the extremely marginalized within the community and be passionate about making a difference in their lives.
On the Housing management aspect, the postholder will work as part of a team to ensure smooth day to day running of the projects. This will include ensuring the shared used facilities of each house are maintained at a good standard, do monthly room checks of clients, identifying and reporting maintenance issues that may arise. You will be organized and able to work independently, but also support the small team in delivering excellent support to our clients.
We will be expecting the candidate to have some experience and knowledge of providing one to one support to clients and some housing management skills. However, we are willing to provide necessary training on client support and related management.
This is a part time, 3-year contact, working 24 hours per week, with a £26,000 per annum pro-rata salary.
The post is based at the Just Homes Charity office at 266 Shrewsbury Road, Forest Gate, E7 8QP and involves working at 2 other properties which are within walking distance of the office. You will be responsible to the Senior Support Officer and ultimately responsible to the CEO of Just Homes Charity.
