JUSTICE is expanding its legal team, to include a Lawyer focussed on strengthening the civil justice stream of our work. This provides an exciting opportunity for a practising lawyer with a strong research background or an academic lawyer to engage in high-level policy and law reform work. The successful candidate will be appointed to a full-time post on a permanent basis, based at our London office.
In April 2015 JUSTICE launched Delivering Justice in an Age of Austerity, a working party report of our members that proposes radical reform of dispute resolution within the civil justice system. The report has been embraced by key stakeholders and is now informing the work of Lord Justice Briggs in his review of the civil courts structure and also underpins the HMCTS Reform Programme. This post holder will be responsible for legacy work related to that report, and will build on its success in reimagining the civil justice system, including family justice. The post holder will also work with our Head of Administrative Justice on projects and briefings relating to administrative justice.
We would like to recruit a bright, motivated person who is passionate about system change in the promotion of access to justice. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. With excellent interpersonal skills, they will be able to work closely with JUSTICE members, which include senior figures in the legal profession.
