Job description

Waste Insights Manager

Salary:            £40,199-£42,199 per annum

Hours:            Full time, 37.5 hours (4 days or an alternative flexible working pattern will be considered)

Contract:        Fixed term contract for a period of between 6 to 9 months (secondments will be considered)

Location:        Wigan, London or Home-based with some travel

Keep Britain Tidy has an exciting new opportunity for an exceptional individual to lead our Waste Insights team and work with our Centre for Social Innovation to develop and deliver innovative solutions that reduce waste and increase recycling.

We are an independent charity which works to eradicate litter and reduce waste, improve the quality of public space and help people live more sustainably. Our Waste Insights team works with local authorities, waste companies, housing providers and schools to deliver projects which help people reduce waste and increase recycling. Our portfolio of projects is extremely varied and our work is fast paced including engagement and communications campaigns, waste education in schools, consultancy support, and monitoring and evaluation services. The work of the team is increasingly focused on developing innovative solutions around recycling and waste prevention, grounded in local research and behavioural insights, alongside Keep Britain Tidy’s award-winning Centre for Social Innovation. Due to the Waste Insights Manager moving up to cover maternity leave, we are looking for an individual who will lead our plans to develop innovative solutions to waste and recycling issues and secure new work by proactively marketing our services.

As our Waste Insights Manager you must be able to demonstrate an effective track record in identifying potential income-generating and funding sources, creating concepts, submitting proposals and winning bids and funds from local authorities (or equivalent). You will be an effective project manager, have experience in generating and managing a budget of circa £550k per annum and have previously worked in the environmental/waste sector. A secondment from a complementary organisation will be considered.
