Job description

Local Charity, KFCA is planning an exciting 2021. We’re seeking a creative innovator to join the team to manage our brand new Children’s Library and Community Hub in the heart of Kensington, Liverpool. We’re looking for somebody who has ideas and a vision that will bring our library to life, creating a vibrant, happy, fun packed space in which children can learn and grow, in which imaginations can soar.  


Working closely with the KFCA Team, the Manager will work to ensure the Children's Library and Community Hub is vibrant, with well-managed facilities that operate for the benefit of the local community. This will be busy role and will require the postholder’s commitment to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends on occasion.

  • Understanding of venue and/or facilities management 


The postholder will be responsible for:  

  • Ensuring the smooth running of the Children’s Library and Community Hub, its activities and Team 

  • Leading on co-development of services and activities with local community members and other stakeholders.  

  • Providing volunteer management and development 

  • Building close working relationships with local partners including schools, universities and businesses.  

  • Exploring opportunities to develop new income generating projects, services and activities. 

  • Marketing and promotion of activities and opportunities 

  • Providing reports KFCA Management Team and funders  

  • Day to day budget management 

  • Implementation of KFCA’s policies and procedures 

  • Additional activities in accordance with role and building  


The success of the Children’s Library and Community Hub will depend heavily on the organisational skills of the Manager and their ability to communicate effectively with all members of the community and work alongside colleagues and stakeholders 


Education and Training: 

  • Educated to at least A-level/Level 3 or equivalent experience 

  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms 

  • Proven experience in either voluntary/community sector, business, project management, education or marketing
