KIDS is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Last year we supported over 11,800 disabled children, and worked with about 60 Local Authorities across England.

About The Role

We are recruiting a Senior Parenting Practitioner to deliver workshops and wellbeing sessions to parent/carers both virtually and face to face. You would also be required to provide high quality child care and play opportunities for disabled children and their parents/carers accessing KIDS community groups in Birmingham.

The role will require you to travel to the following areas: Erdington, Sutton Coldfield, Perry Barr, Yardley, Hall Green, Edgbaston, Ladywood, Hodge Hill, Northfield, Selly Oak so a car driver is essential. 

This is a flexible role offering part-time hours of 20 per week, 4 hours daily per Mon-Friday 9-1pm

Including occasional evening and weekend work (Term Time Only)

About You

You will have previous experience of delivering workshops/information and wellbeing sessions to parent/carers - both virtually and face to face.

You will have a good understanding of child development, EYFS, SEND Code of Practice and OFSTED requirements, and have experience in developing an exciting environment where children can achieve and enjoy learning.

You will have experience of supporting parent/carers of children with SEND by offering practical help and emotional support to families.
