King Edward VII’s Hospital is special due to its charitable status, founded in 1899 with the express purpose of those injured in the Second Boer War, that care for servicemen and women and for veterans continues to this day.
King Edward VII’s charitable work focuses on helping support those men and women who have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, and also their spouses and partners. In 2016 they opened the Centre For Veterans’ Health which has become a focal point of the hospital.
The Talent Set are working exclusively with the hospital to recruit a Philanthropy Lead to join their small but impactful Fundraising team to support their annual income target of £6 million. You will work closely with the Fundraising Director and take responsibility for the day-to-day development, management and delivery of multiple income channels with a focus on individual giving.
King Edward VII has a very well established donor base and pride themselves on the exceptional stewardship and donor journeys they provide to their supporters. You will be the first point of contact for all enquiries and take responsibility for communications with regular donors in order to develop and nurture these relationships. You will proactively seek out new avenues to attract supporters to the charity and help deliver a high-end calendar of networking opportunities and events.
To be successful in this role you will have exceptional interpersonal skills and be confident building relationships with a diverse audience including their very prestigious donors. This position offers an excellent development opportunity with a strong mentor however an independent approach to your work will be important, as well as the ability to quickly assume responsibilities. Excellent written skills and attention to detail will be vital, and knowledge of the fundraising landscape essential.
