Kingston Carers’ Network (KCN) is a registered charity affiliated to the Carers’ Trust.  KCN provides a wide range of services to adult and young carers in the Royal Borough of Kingston.

Dementia Carers’ Adviser/Support Worker (Part-time 21 hours per week)

KCN is looking for a part-time adviser to provide one-to-one advice to carers of people living with dementia. This will involve outreach work on the elderly patients’ wards at Kingston Hospital, identifying carers and offering support. You will provide advice and advocacy on a wide range of issues including: community care, welfare benefits and carers’ rights.

Salary: £15,750 for 21 hours per week

Carers’ Adviser/Support Worker (Part-time 12 hours per week)
KCN is also looking for a part-time adviser to provide one-to-one advice and support to carers of people living with physical and mental health problems. You will provide advice and advocacy on issues such as community care, welfare benefits and carers’ rights. You will also carry out carers’ assessments.

Salary: £8999 for 12 hours per week

For both posts, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience of face-to-face support work and knowledge of carers’ issues are desirable.

These are two separate posts but we would consider combining the hours to make a full-time post.
