Job description

KMHCF is a small charity which acts as the collective voice to represent the views and concerns of unpaid Mental Health Carers in the Royal Borough of Kingston. We are recognised in this campaigning role by statutory services who engage us as active members of decision-making committees. We also partner with other third-sector organisations.

We are able to assist the individual Carers who contact us for confidential advice, guidance and support. By supporting Carers’ needs, we also contribute to the wellbeing of those they care for, aiming for the best possible mental health services.

We are keen to further develop our service and, for this, we invite a volunteer with the aptitude to help us achieve this.

You should have knowledge of Mental Health, either directly yourself or as a Carer/Family/Friend of someone who has experienced a Mental Health difficulty. Most of all, you should have the enthusiasm to serve Carers who can feel isolated and bewildered.

You might be willing to attend events as our representative, or you might feel that you could offer to take hands-on responsibility on projects for moving the development of our service forward. This may indicate an applicant who offers professional skills, but is now retired.

If you have enthusiasm to serve Carers who can often feel isolated and bewildered, we’d like to hear from you.

Please contact us for an informal chat.
