12 month fixed-term contract
Based in Central Reading
Launchpad provides vital information and support for vulnerable individuals, couples and families in Reading who do not have a stable place to live or are at risk of losing their home. Founded as a soup kitchen in 1979 by students at the University of Reading, the charity now provides a holistic service that works in three ways – we prevent homelessness, provide homes and rebuild lives.
During the global pandemic, Launchpad remained open and our teams have been working tirelessly to ensure extremely vulnerable people in Reading continue to receive the help they desperately need. But this work won’t stop when the lockdown eases – we anticipate there will be even more people in housing crisis because of issues such as evictions, redundancy and mental health.
The Fundraising Assistant will play a big part in supporting Launchpad’s vital work over the next year. Whether you are processing donations from our wonderful supporters, ensuring our database (ThankQ) is accurate and up to date or answering emails and calls to the office in Merchants Place– you are a vital part in helping to raise funds for Launchpad, build our community of supporters and have a real impact on local people in need.
You will support the Fundraising team as the first point of contact across community and corporate fundraising, ensuring that good relations are maintained with all Launchpad supporters and they receive the best supporter care experience. Previous experience in a customer services role is required as the right candidate will be articulate over email with a positive attitude and a pleasing telephone manner.
The Fundraising Assistant will also own the financial administration and recording of income received into the fundraising portfolio so will be confident with numbers and the recording of financial information. Previous experience and knowledge of using a CRM system is required, preferably in the not for profit sector, as the right candidate will have excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills with an ability to prioritise, manage a varied workload and work to deadlines.
