We are a registered charity for people experiencing homelessness that helps some of Reading’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people to turn their lives around and achieve their potential.
Launchpad are currently in the process of acquiring a purpose designed Centre to deliver practical Life Skills and Employability Support. Located within a short walk from the town centre the new site will enable clients to learn practical skills including Cooking on a budget and basic DIY. Workshops and short courses will be delivered in partnership with New Directions and other local community providers. Support with resettlement, tenancy sustainment, advice and advocacy, life skills, budgeting and other housing related queries will also be available from the new Centre.
This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter to be involved in developing and shaping a new service. An ability to work creatively whilst using alternative engagement styles is essential. As well as being a team player, we are looking for someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude who can represent Launchpad and the Centre Manager in external and internal meetings. The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering Careers Advice and Employability workshops within a homeless or community setting. Previous experience of working to key performance indicators and of supporting clients with their health and wellbeing would also be advantageous.
We look forward to hearing from you!
The closing date for applications is 4th October 2019 and interviews will be held on 10th October 2019.
