Job description

Our field operations team provide the necessary evidence to help shape the public debate on cruel sports and bring criminal activity to light.  We gather evidence to expose illegal wildlife hunting through thorough planning and preparation of the operation, covert field observation, filming and where there is enough evidence, to submit a file for the Police to undertake a criminal investigation.  We gather content which exposes cruel sports and practices for use in priority campaigns to influence public opinion, policy change and to engage donors.

You will manage the team to maximise the League’s impact, putting safety first and making the best possible use of funding.  Leadership is an essential quality as you will be remotely managing a team located around the country, ensuring they are trained and continuously updated in the latest cutting-edge technology.  You will have a proven track record of planning or overseeing covert operations and ideally experience of field investigations.  You will have up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and an understanding of the National intelligence Model and the processes involved in safely managing intelligence sources.  The ability to identify and manage risk and a methodical approach to record keeping and report writing are key attributes.

The League Against Cruel Sports is Britain’s leading charity working towards a kinder society where persecuting animals for ‘sport’ is in the past.

Redefining what is acceptable and inspiring change, we were instrumental in helping bring about the landmark Hunting Act 2004. Driven by compassion and empowered by knowledge, we manage sanctuaries to protect wildlife, carry out investigations to expose law-breaking and cruelty to animals, and campaign for stronger animal protection laws and penalties.

United, we will end animal cruelty in the name of ‘sport’.

Benefits include generous holiday entitlement, excellent pension scheme, discounts on shopping and cinema, most importantly working with a passionate team committed to make a difference.
