Job description

LtL enriches the lives of children and young people by helping them to connect with nature, become more active, play and learn outdoors, develop social skills and have fun. We do this by helping a wide range of groups including schools, early years settings, parents, child minders and out of school care providers.

Founded nearly 30 years ago, LtL is a leading charity in outdoor education. Our central office is based in Winchester and our Scottish team is based in Stirling. We have a UK and international brief and operate through advocacy, research, membership, training and delivery.

We are honoured to have Sir David Attenborough as one of our founding patrons. He, along with our dynamic and experienced board of trustees, make LtL a sector leader.

The Head of Programmes and Partnerships post is a part-time post to be based in either our Stirling or Winchester office.

The hours will be 29.6 per week (4 days).  The benefits of working for Learning through Landscapes include:-

  • 28 days annual leave (pro-rata)
  • 2 x annual salary life cover
  • Flexible working solutions

  • Paid leave to deal with emergency situations relating to personal situations and family
  • Up to 5% matched employer pension contribution
  • Limited free parking (unless advised otherwise by landlords)
  • Free refreshments
  • Christmas meal allowance
  • Annual staff away day/meeting including subsistence

Ideally with an education and/or environmental background, the postholder will manage LtL projects and line manage associated project managers, as well as managing LtL’s network of freelancers working on those projects. They will need to be equipped with skills to design and manage project impact assessments and be experienced in reporting to project funders and trustees.

Experience of developing projects and securing funding is essential along with a track record in managing relationships with new and existing funders, partners and corporates.
