Leeds Hospitals Charity

Leeds Hospitals Charity is proud to support Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Trust comprises seven hospitals and a dental institute, including Leeds General Infirmary, St James’s University Hospital, Leeds Children’s Hospital and Leeds Cancer Centre. At Leeds Hospitals Charity, we work with NHS staff to improve the experience of patients and families. We are passionate about healthcare and about making our hospitals amazing.

Role Details

Reporting directly to the Communications Director, the Head of Marketing will play a leading role in how we convey our transformational stories and exciting appeals to a range of audiences. At the start of this year we changed our name from Leeds Cares to Leeds Hospitals Charity but our brand awareness remains low so this role has an amazing opportunity to contribute to the charities ambitious 5 year strategy.  This newly designed position will bring together the fundraising and marketing functions, with the aim to develop and execute multi-channel campaigns to grow our supporter database. You will manage a team of direct reports, wider workstreams, and agencies to help execute our objectives and plans. You will also be responsible for generating a volume of content to support ongoing inbound marketing campaigns. You will be able to integrate marketing technologies with our new CMS to ensure leading and impactful campaigns. We’re looking for an exceptional individual with strategic leadership and project management skills who can pull together project teams, align our goals and targets, and drive value from our marketing functions.

The Person

•  Has the ability to lead, train and develop a fast-paced and growing marketing function, ensuring our positioning and messaging is strong and consistent across all channels.

•  Can manage marketing budgets to deliver brand growth and recognition internally within LTHT and externally across the North of England.

•  Can design and implement a robust marketing partnership agreement to ensure we maximise brand awareness on all projects we fund.

•  Can lead a fast-paced and growing marketing function, ensuring our positioning and messaging is strong and consistent across all channels.

•  Will develop and drive the overall marketing strategy for the Charity, and work closely with fundraising Heads to ensure we deliver tailored marketing plans for our different appeals and audiences.

•  Can develop and deliver content on a range of offline and online channels, making sure our content and messages reach diverse communities.

•  Will create performance reports on outputs and develop a robust process for measuring for all expenditure to demonstrate a return on investment.

•  Has the ability to set and monitor goals and targets, and regularly report on tracked KPIs.

You will:

•  Have proven experience in managing significant marketing budgets and project managing multiple complex projects.

• Have line management experience.

• Have considerable experience in managing agencies to deliver projects on budget within agreed timelines and deliver agreed objectives.

• Have experience delivering multi channel projects including content marketing (including video production, podcasts and webinars).

 • Be a self-starter, capable to work remotely and as part of a team, whilst being able to work on multiple projects at the same time.

• Have experience with digital marketing across the supporter lifecycle, including PPC and paid social.

 • Have proven experience of developing a website with regular multi-variate testing and ongoing development to achieve objectives.

• Be highly organised with strong project management skills.

• Have excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to develop and deliver content on a range of offline and online channels.
