With 5,000 staff and 10,000 volunteers supporting nearly 70,000 people in the UK and around the world, Leonard Cheshire provide support to 3,200 people in a variety of UK living services including supported living, nursing and day centre facilities. We also support 12,000 young people in the UK with skills, confidence and employment programmes. Internationally, we are a specialist development NGO delivering inclusive education, youth leadership and access to livelihoods programmes to more than 50,000 people in 15 countries across Asia and Africa.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity to implement Leonard Cheshire’s brand strategy to significantly strengthen our fundraising efforts, transforming the recruitment and support of individual donors and trusts, while increasing our brand awareness and advocacy in order to accelerate revenue growth with a step change in both short and long-term results.
In close collaboration with the Head of Brand Development, you will develop an inspirational brand vision, strategy and turnaround action plan that will be reflected in all our donor communications both in the UK and internationally.
You will lead on the creation of a distinctive and enduring brand position - with one voice on disabled people’s journeys towards independence - that is consistently experienced on all our materials and audience touch points. With our Head of Brand Development, you will support the creation of a detailed investment plan as part of the overarching Marketing Strategy, to significantly raise awareness of Leonard Cheshire, achieving our aim to become one of the UK’s most recognised charities.
Supervising all activities related to the brand, and acting as a key source of information on it within Leonard Cheshire, you will act as brand guardian and steward, providing consistency in all brand representations, and working closely with our Marketing Managers for its implementation. You will lead the implementation of a brand communications plan, managing agencies, briefing and executing day to day activities, as well as setting brand objectives and standards across Digital, Communications, Events & Experience, both in messages and branding elements, ensuring consistency and quality.
With full ownership of the production of brand assets for our major external comms campaigns, you will, with the wider team, design an excellent donor brand experience.
You will set the KPIs for brand and marketing activity and the ROI for all promotional and advertising initiatives.
With demonstrable TTL marketing experience in developing and executing fully integrated marketing and communications plans, you will have an excellent track record of media planning within an omnichannel environment. You will bring extensive experience of managing agencies and of motivating internal and external teams. You will have a solid track record of delivering significant income growth in turnaround organisations where communications play a key part.
You will have the ability to interact effectively with all levels, as well as have the capacity to work both independently and within large, established teams. You will be results oriented, with demonstrable experience in data-driven marketing roles and also bring experience of large-scale events activations and partnership brand projects and campaigns.
