About us

As the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of services to disabled people, we believe disabled people should have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose – with the opportunity and support to live independently, to contribute economically and to participate fully in society.

With 5,000 staff and 10,000 volunteers supporting nearly 70,000 people in the UK and around the world, Leonard Cheshire provides support to 3,200 people in a variety of UK living services including supported living, nursing and day centre facilities.  We also support 12,000 young people in the UK with skills, confidence and employment programmes.  Internationally, we are a specialist development non-governmental organisation, delivering inclusive education, youth leadership and access to livelihoods programmes to more than 50,000 people in 15 countries across Asia and Africa.

About the role

Together As One (TAO) supports individuals in receipt of social support to take part in their favourite activities or learn new skills with people in their area whilst being supported by their chosen support worker, through a website booking system. The activities on offer are based in the local area and further afield with transport an option booked through the webtool.

Each participant chooses the activities they want to do each week, has the option to share activities with friends and can also suggest new activities, and, even more importantly, when, where and with whom they want to participate. They are also able to choose their staffing preferences as staffing profiles are matched to individual needs and are also shown on the webtool.  This innovative programme gives genuine choice and control to individuals, allowing them to choose how they achieve their outcomes in life and enabling them to control for themselves how they live, learn and develop skills and learning.

In this role you will develop and run the delivery of these user-led services, ensuring the quality and consistency of project delivery and performance against key objectives and targets and focusing on it making a difference to all the people with disabilities in receipt of social support who choose to join the programme.

You will also support and actively develop and promote the wider project through marketing and networking with other potential users, support workers and activity organisations inviting them to join the programme.
